Springfield Steel Buildings were asked to provide a steel building for Derwent Bowmen Archery Club in Derbyshire.
The Archery club had received a grant as part of the London Olympic Games 2012 legacy.
The Derwent Bowmen Archery Club was formed in 1962 by a group of enthusiastic local archers. Since that time the DBAC has evolved into a thriving community of junior and senior club members.
The club now boasts a new all weather clubhouse with indoor shooting range, workroom, fully fitted kitchen, seating area and our own field for shooting at distances up to 100yds. The facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Springfield Steel buildings were tasked with extending the existing concrete base to accommodate a larger indoor shooting range. The new Cold Rolled Steel Building was 13m wide x 29m long and 3.2m to the eaves. The building was fully insulated and lined internally with full height blockwork to protect the internal of the building from wondering arrows.
A full structural calculations package was provided for the foundations and the structural steelwork.
