Springfield Steel Buildings Ltd are looking for a part time admin assistant to join our team. SSB are an established Hull based construction company that offer nationwide services.

Work will include but is not limited to:

  • Ensuring all incoming calls are answered promptly and dealt with appropriately.
  • Monitoring and responding to emails as necessary.
  • Printing, copying and binding a range of documents.
  • General office admin duties, ordering stationery, filing, photocopying, etc.
  • Assist in the maintenance of health and safety files and insurance documentation.
  • Dealing with utility bills for the business.
  • Inputting invoices and purchases into the system, to be checked by the Accounts Manager.
  • Responsible for booking accommodation for colleagues working away, including amendments and cancellations if applicable.
  • Updating the calendar for those people working away.
  • Looking after fleet vehicles including MOT/Service/Maintenance.
  • Support Accounts Manager workload.
  • Implementing processes to achieve efficiency of administrative system.
  • Any other additional duties required appropriate to the role.

You Should:

  • Have at least 1 years experience in administration
  • Be very well organized and able to prioritize and use your own initiative in quieter periods.
  • Have a positive, can do attitude.
  • Have strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Have GCSE Maths and English to a minimum of grade C or equivalent.

This is a part time role, Salary, hours and days of work will be discussed at interview.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Due to increase workloads Springfield Steel Buildings Ltd are seeking an intelligent and forward thinking full time Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their enthusiastic team located in Hull.

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside the Managing Director and estimating team on Commercial, Industrial and Leisure projects.

Main Responsibilities:

-Assist in Performing risk, value management and cost control.
-Assist in preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
-Work closely with Contracts team.
-Assist in the Submission & Negotiation of Final Accounts.
-Assist validating Subcontractor Applications.
-Assist in preparing estimates and bills of quantities.
-Attend de-brief meetings at end of Projects.
-The job holder will do all tasks within his/her level of skill and ability.

Essential Skills:

-RICS accredited degree
-A minimum 6 months QS experience
-Ambitious - seeking to progress
-Wanting to achieve MRIC
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skill.
- Good attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Must be confident.

Steel Erectors & Cladding Operatives

Due to national demand for our products and services, Springfield Steel Buildings Ltd are looking for steel erectors and cladding operatives. Site specific training will be given in the safe and correct construction of our innovative cold rolled steel framed buildings.

All applicants are to be minimum CSCS certified and preferably IPAF 3a & 3b in the use of Mobile Elevated Working Platforms.
NVQ’s in steel erecting or cladding operations would be advantageous. Good levels of communication are important.
